Download the Sample Organization
The sample CRM Organization backup file (AdxstudioPortals_MSCRM-4-x-xxxx.zip) can be downloaded here
Restore the Sample Organization Database
- Extract the AdxstudioPortals_MSCRM.bak backup file from the AdxstudioPortals_MSCRM-4-x-xxxx.zip archive
- Open “Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio”
- Connect to your SQL Server
- In “Object Explorer”, expand your Server
- Right-Click on “Databases”
- Click ‘Restore Database…”
The "Restore Database" dialog will be displayed.
- Enter “AdxstudioPortals_MSCRM” in the “To database:” field.
- Select “From device:”
- Click the button labeled “…”
The “Specify Backup” dialog will be displayed
- Click “Add”
The “Locate Backup File” dialog will be displayed
- Navigate to the location you extracted the backup and select the AdxstudioPortals_MSCRM.bak file.
- Click “OK”
- Click “OK”
- Click the “Restore” checkbox
- Click “OK”
When restore has completed
- Click “OK”
The sample demo organization database is now ready to be imported using CRM Deployment Manager.
Import the Sample Organization
- Open “Microsoft Dynamics CRM Deployment Manager” (C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics CRM\Tools\Microsoft.Crm.DeploymentManger.exe)
- Click “Organizations”
- Click “Import Organization…”
The “Import Organization Wizard” dialog is displayed
- Specify “SQL Server”
- Select “AdxstudioPortals_MSCRM” from the “Organization database” dropdown.
- Click “Next”
- Enter “AdxstudioPortals” into the “Display name” and “Unique Database Name” fields
- Click “Next”
- Specify a “Report Server URL” or use the default provided
- Click “Next”
- Select “Automatically Map Users (recommended)"
- Click “Next”
- Click “Next”
- Click “Next”
- Click “Import”
- Click “Finish”
The sample demo organization AdxstudioPortals is now available to be used.
The demo AdxstudioPortals organization includes all the necessary data to demo the sample portals.
Note: The sample organization has a single Contact record with the Web Authentication Username set to "administrator" and Password set to pass@word1. Once you have setup the website(s) you can login using these credentials.
